M6 Test Roll

This is the test roll from my Leica M6 Classic and Voigtlander Ultron 35mm f/2 Aspherical Type II. Film stock was Kodak Gold 200.
I missed focus on a few of them and over exposed on a few other ones. I’ve since watched some videos to learn how the light meter works properly to hopefully rectify the issue.

Overall I’m really happy with the lens and camera setup. The lens is sharp throughout, even at f/2 you get very little vingetting. IMG_19, IMG_15 & IMG_01 are all examples shot at f/2.

The M6 itself is a joy to use. It just gets out of the way and lets you take the picture. With it being a rangefinder you don’t feel like the mirror is slapping you in the face every time you take a picture. The build quality is also top notch and is built like a tank. This thing will probably outlast me. It was built in 1991 and still feels buttery smooth.

My only gripe so far is that the rangefinger window is right where my fingers tend to fall when picking up the camera. This leads to fingerprints on the window causing a loss of contrast when focusing. I’ll need to learn to not do this

Some photos you’ll see some digital artifacting such as rainbows and smushy colours. This isn’t the camera or the negative, it looks like the scanner at the dev lab was having problem that day.

When I get the negatives back I will be scanning them myself to hopefully give me a bit more latitude when editing the photos. On the photos that have been over exposed I’m going to try and bring some of it back to save them. Kodak Gold 200 is supposedly quite good at retaining details in the highlights, but I feel I may be pushing my luck with a few of them. I’ll look to put them in a side-by-side when I get around to it.
